Hazel Park, Michigan, September 16, 2010 - Samoco Industries announced the sale of a new aftermarket transmission control module that solves an annoying and potentially costly problem.

The product is intended for aftermarket transmission upgrades that utilize the BorgWarner Tremec T56, TR-6060, and T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmissions.  When upgrading an older four or five-speed vehicle to a newer, six-speed transmission, vehicle owners typically experience "gear-grind" when shifting from fourth to fifth gear.  This is due to the annoying proximity of the reverse and fifth gear shifter positions (see photo below).   Vehicles factory equipped with six-speed manual transmissions do not exhibit this problem since they come from the factory with a special OEM electronic control module that prevents shifting into reverse at speeds above about 5MPH.

Vehicles that frequently are recipients of a six-speed upgrade include the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and Dodge Viper, among others.

The aftermarket control module sold by Samoco Industries restores this functionality, mimicking the function of the factory OEM control module.

Installation is simple and the instructions are geared toward those with little to no experience performing upgrades or modifications to their vehicle.

Key to the product's success is what Garland describes as a perfect price point, "where practical innovation meets value".
